Co-Owner & Wound Provider, Kayla Hopkins is a board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Nevada, Reno. She is a Certified Wound Specialist Credential from the American Board of Wound Management. A Reno native, Kayla is passionate about delivering exceptional wound care that improves outcomes and enhances quality of life for her patients.

With more than 3 years of experience in advanced wound management in the Northern Nevada area, Kayla combines clinical expertise with a personal, patient-centered approach. She believes that healing is a partnership - one that focuses not only on physical recovery but also on supporting patients and their families throughout the process.

Outside of her clinical work, Kayla enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, exploring the Nevada outdoors, and seeking new adventures that keep life exciting.

Co-Owner & Wound Provider, Jonathan Weaver is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, earning his degree from Chamberlain University. He is Wound Care Certified by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy and is a two time Northern Nevada Nurse Achievement nominee. Originally from New York, he relocated to Reno years ago and now proudly calls Northern Nevada home. 

Jonathan brings extensive experience in advanced wound management across both acute and post-acute settings, offering a wealth of knowledge and skill to the team. He is especially passionate about wound care education, he maintains his position as an educator at NNMC, empowering both patients and clinicians through knowledge and support. 

Outside of his clinical practice, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his son. Together, they share a love of competition and camaraderie, and can often be found playing rounds of golf.

Co-Owner & Clinic Director, Paige Temen is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in wound care and is both Wound Care Certified by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy and Sharp Debridement Certified. A long-time Reno resident, she proudly considers herself a Nevadan. Paige is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care and strives to ensure every patient interaction is centered on dignity and healing. She is currently in school for her FNP to further advance her wound care treatment potential 
With years of experience in wound care practice, patient care, case management and product sales, Paige is highly skilled in all aspects of wound management and care coordination. She focuses on supporting patients and their families throughout the healing journey, ensuring a holistic approach to care and patient management.

Outside of her clinical work, Paige enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 girls. She enjoys golfing, hunting, boating, camping, and traveling with her family.


As our Transitional Care Management Director, Amy Barats, DNP, APRN, brings more than 15 years of healthcare experience serving the Reno and Northern Nevada community. With an extensive background as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Amy has cared for patients across a wide range of complex clinical settings and has a strong passion for improving patient outcomes through compassionate, comprehensive care.

Amy also brings valuable experience in Transitional Care Management from her time with DispatchHealth, where she focused on bridging gaps in care, reducing hospital readmissions, and helping patients safely transition back home after hospitalization. In addition to her work in hospital medicine and primary care, Amy has pursued her passion for wellness and preventative health through her own private practice, emphasizing whole-person care and long-term health improvement.

Today, Amy is seeing patients for Transitional Care Management and Primary Care, where she continues to focus on keeping patients healthy, independent, and supported in their home environment whenever possible. Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and taking advantage of everything Nevada has to offer.

Vivian Lazatin Cayabyab, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, CDP, LNC is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with more than 16 years of registered nursing experience and 8.5 years of advanced practice nurse practitioner in critical care, hospital medicine, gerontology, rehabilitation, behavioral health, and long-term care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in the Philippines in 2001 before advancing her education and clinical career in the United States. She currently practices as a hospitalist caring for complex adult and geriatric patients in acute and post-acute care settings. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2005 and completed her post-master’s Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification at Grand Canyon University in 2017. She holds national board certifications through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Vivian is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track at Walden University. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Vivian is a devoted mother of three children, ages 19, 16, and 13, balancing the demands of advanced clinical practice, doctoral education, and family life with resilience and dedication. Known for her compassionate leadership, strong clinical judgment, and commitment to whole-person care, she is passionate about advancing integrated medical and behavioral healthcare in both acute and primary care settings. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, outdoor activities, and traveling with her family.

Jennifer Garrett, DNP, APRN is a wonderful addition to our team. As a previous home health nurse of many years and a Fernley resident she covers our eastern territory for wound care.

When Jen isn't seeing wound patients she can be found doing one of a million other things including coaching soccer, wrestling and more! As a mom and mentor she is firmly rooted in the Fernley community. She is a perfect addition to our locally owned and operated team!  


Frankie is a vital part of the Alpine Basin Care team, serving as our Office Manager and Scheduler. With years of experience as a Medical Assistant in both primary care and digestive health, she brings extensive clinical knowledge, organization, and compassion to our practice every day.

Known for her bubbly personality and warm smile, Frankie helps create a welcoming environment for both patients and staff. She is a proud mother of two and grandmother who loves spending time with her family outside of work. Her dedication, positivity, and ability to keep everything running smoothly make her an essential part of our team and patient experience.
